Hundreds of patients across the region depend on non-emergent ambulance transportation as a critical resource supporting their healthcare services.
In-patients at local hospitals can require transport across campus or off campus to necessary appointments at allied facilities. For many patients being discharged to rehabilitation or step down units, an ambulance is required for transport.
Some residents in long term care facilities may qualify for wheelchair transportation to get them to and from external appointments. Others with higher acuity, require more support, necessitating an ambulance. In 2019, Cataldo provided over 146,000 non-emergent transports to patients in the region.
