Training is available on-site at your facility or at Cataldo’s State-of-the-Art Simulation Training Center located in Malden. Our training ranges from CPR to Continuing Education Classes to disaster management and planning. Cataldo is a Massachusetts accredited training institution, with a full range of capabilities and technology that we are certain will exceed your training expectations.
Cataldo Ambulance is excited to offer the latest addition to our Education Department: the Laerdal SimMan® Essential. This is an advanced patient simulator that can display neurological symptoms as well as physiological symptoms. A library of lung, heart and bowel sounds, as well as fully interactive vital signs can be assessed by the clinician to deliver the most realistic training possible.
Virtual Instructor-Led Training.
Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) refers to training that is delivered in a virtual environment, or when instructor and learner are in separate locations. Virtual instruction environments are designed to simulate the traditional classroom or learning experience. VILT can be conducted synchronously or asynchronously. The term is also referred to as Virtual Classroom Training (VCT). VILT is one of the fastest growing methods of internet-based learning delivery.
VILT provides an engaging experience in which participants can connect with the content and interact with both the instructor and other classmates. Successful implementations, visible through high retention rates and satisfied learners, demonstrate that VILT delivery can be both effective and efficient.

This course is designed to increase staff feelings of competency in decision-making and effectiveness while responding to a code. In this class, participants will learn how to recognize emergency situations and how to define their role in a code situation. We will discuss performing the essential measures to treat patients during a code and how to best utilize the Chain of Group Dynamics in code situation. Participants will also be taught how to clearly provide effective hand-off communication to other healthcare team members. Performance feedback will be provided to your organization for compliance with JCAHO requirements.

This course is intended to teach the participant how to identify and treat a choking victim using Abdominal Thrusts. This program is recommended for food service personnel, and/or those working with high risk individuals.

Exercises or drills provide several important benefits to any organization that uses them to prepare for its emergency response. In particular, they provide an organization a way to determine its readiness to respond to a crisis or disaster by clarifying any gaps or problems with existing policies and plans. This training drill will help administration and staff understand their roles during a disaster and will help to identify needs for other resources. You will walk away with valuable, and potentially life-saving, knowledge of modifications and improvements that need to be made to your existing plans based on the lessons learned during the drill. Conducting this drill will help facilities increase their overall preparedness for a real evacuation.
