CHAIR CAR RESERVATIONS

To reduce the risk of exposure to your patients and residents to COVID-19. we ask that beginning 3/17/20, all transportation provided to your residents by Cataldo/Atlantic, be limited to ESSENTIAL transports only. This applies to both wheelchair and ambulance transportation.

As part of our ongoing effort to reduce exposure to our crews and to others as well as manage our staffing to ensure we can accommodate all the needed services we are also requesting the that all customers work with us to accommodate the below guidelines.

No “plus one” riders should be allowed to travel with the patient/resident unless medically needed.

ESSENTIAL transports that will continue include the following:

  • Dialysis – Critical surgical follow up – Cancer treatments – Hospital admissions – Hospice – Additional situations identified as ESSENTIAL by your medical staff
  • All Emergency transports are considered ESSENTIAL and will continue.

During the current state of emergency in Massachusetts, we request that you limit all NON-ESSENTIAL transports.

  • Non-essential transports include all appointments that can be rescheduled without negative impact to the patient

This page is your portal to viewing real time availability of the chair car fleet serving your division. To see what chair car slots are available for booking click on the name of your division.

Requests will be taken M-F between 9 am and 5 pm
Request should be made at least 72 hours in advance

Call a Chair Car Specialist to Confirm

This tool will assist in identifying available slots, but you will need to call a chair car specialist to book the appointment.

For Medical Needs Only

Chair car transportation is not available for patients who have no medical need for a chair car transport. The patient’s Face Sheet and completed Medical Necessity form must be faxed or emailed in advance of the transport. These forms are required for all transports.

Appointments & Urgent Care

You can use this schedule, which spans 90 days, to make appointments based on actual availability. If you need urgent transportation for a time slot not visually available, please call your Division call center and speak with a chair car specialist to explain your urgent need.

New Patients Must Be Approved

All requests for new, repetitive patients must be approved by a supervisor as there is very limited availability for repetitive trips. Current repetitive trips and adult day health will be honored.

Limited Availability

There is extremely limited availability to book trips after 1 pm in order to accommodate return trips.
