JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is an entry level position responsible for the receipt of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization. The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible under the direction of the Accounts Receivable Supervisor to assist in managing the accounts receivable for Cataldo Ambulance Service, Inc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General

    • Post customer payments as well as commercial insurance payments, in compliance with financial policies and procedures;
    • Must meet daily assignment requirements for posting/work flow schedules;
    • Ability to recognize and process overpayment situations;
    • Perform accounts receivable write offs, refunds, and special requests;
    • General office duties such as filing, faxing, scanning, web search etc.;
    • Must be positive, professional demeanor at all times;
    • Ability to work in a Fast paced high demand environment;
    • Ability to Multitask;
    • Possess superior computer skills with but not limited to Microsoft Office, Phone, Fax, internet;
    • Ability to keep confidential material safe and secure;
    • Various tasks assigned by managers;

 

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

Required

  • High School diploma, minimum requirement, Associates degree in Accounting preferred;
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience in Billing systems like RescueNet Billing, EMDEON, Zirmed preferred;
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organization skills; attention to detail and follow through a MUST;
  • Resolve issues quickly and efficiently;
  • Must be able to multitask, take charge and ownership of tasks assigned;
  • Attention to detail a MUST;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting;
  • Must be able to handle highly confidential information with complete discretion;
  • Basic understanding of government and commercial insurance.
